8 Years After Terrible Start, No Man's Sky Finally Has „Very Positive” Reviews on Steam. „You Have No Idea What This Means to Us”
It took a long eight years, but the share of positive reviews among all No Man's Sky reviews on Steam has finally reached 80%.
The No Man's Sky release turned out to be a huge disappointment. However, the developers saved this game by spending many years fixing and expanding it with new content through free updates. Now, the whole "renaissance" of NMS has reached an important milestone.
- On Steam, the percentage of positive player reviews has finally reached 80%, leading the service to change its rating for No Man's Sky to "very positive."
- Sean Murray, head of Hello Games studio, was extremely happy about this. He thanked the players, posting the following comment on X:
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
You have no idea what this means to us.
Counting only reviews from the last 30 days, 94% of them praise this game. No Man's Sky has been achieving similar results for a while now, but the high number of negative reviews in its early years on the market meant that it has only now gathered enough positive ones to reach 80%.
How great a job the devs have done is best demonstrated by the fact that two months after its PC release, No Man's Sky had only 32% positive reviews on Steam.
No Man's Sky is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. Right now, there is a sale on Steam, in which the price of the game has been reduced by 60% and can be purchased for $23.99.
Finally, it's worth mentioning that the Hello Games studio has announced reruns of this year's five expeditions (events in No Man's Sky in which you can win a variety of valuable prizes). Each of them will last two weeks. The first (Omega) started yesterday and will end on December 11, when the repeat of the Adrift expedition will start.
