The Gameplay

Need For Speed: Pro Street is about competing with opponents during racing events. You must choose the cars you want to race with before each event (Race Day). It's worth to mention the fact that certain types of races require cars with specific traits (for example, a Drift race requires a rear-wheel drive). Unfortunately, you can only assign a single car to one type of competition. You can also take a spare car to the meet.

Several tips:

  • If you have NFS: Carbon installed, you'll get 10000 in cash and a couple of repair vouchers.
  • If you go online, create an account and log in, you'll receive an email with a code which , when input in the proper place, will yield 10000 in cash (one time only) If you have an old account (from NFS: Carbon) you can use it in Pro Street - your buddy list will be ported to Pro Street.
  • After winning or dominating a Race Day (getting the required number of points), you can choose your rewards, either (1) repair vouchers, (2) money, (3) car parts for the vehicles you own. Pay attention as to whether the parts you win can be used to upgrade your car. Unfortunately, the parts you get are randomly determined.
  • It pays off to win all available races - it's always some more cash and parts. If you're short on money, redo a Race Day.
  • The key to winning is buying the right parts and proper car tuning.
  • If you noticed your car's horsepower is lower than one of the opponents, don't fret. Winning and losing are not dependent solely on it.
  • During the races, you'll crash and bump into things a lot, which'll bring your car's efficiency down. Repair it either with cash or vouchers. When you total your car, you can use a voucher to restore it back to life.
  • If repairs are bound to cost little, don't waste your vouchers. On the other hand, if you're short on cash, and repairs cost from 3000-4000, use a voucher. One more thing - you don't have to fix every tiny scratch after each race, sometimes it just isn't worth it. It's better to fix each car after a Race Day.
  • You cannot enter a Race Day with a destroyed or damaged car.
  • The tracks are pretty short, but a completion percentage meter is displayed in the upper-right corner..
  • Hint: if you're short on vouchers, start entering and exiting the Championships you've already completed. Vouchers will be given to you after you enter and exit. Do this with each completed Championship. You could also buy them from the menu, but what's the point in this case?
