Last update: 05 March 2020
This page has starting tips for MisBits. You will find various tips and tricks on how to win more easily, how to avoid losing, and how to be better in the main modes. These tips should make it easier for you to start your adventure with the game.
Our starting tips are mostly for the three main modes - Deathmatch, Kick Brawl, and Toy Hunters. However, this knowledge can be useful in other modes as well.
- Try to be on the move at all times
- Search the maps for your favorite toys
- Charge throws and kicks
- Learn every map
- Use the climbing mechanic to reach interesting places
- Beware of traps and chasms
- Quickly move away from each lost toy
- Beware of exploding chickens
Try to be on the move at all times
The gameplay in MisBits is very dynamic. If possible, you should avoid standing in place - try to move around the map. Standing still makes you an easy target for other players - both those who want to destroy you and those looking for an opportunity to steal your toy.
Besides being on the move, don't forget to jump a lot (Space key) and sprint (hold Shift key). Unfortunately, sprint uses the energy bar displayed at the bottom of the screen. If you deplete the entire bar, you will have to wait a bit for it to recharge. You should always have a little of this bar left to be able to can get somewhere faster or avoid the attacks of other players.
Search the maps for your favorite toys
Your first instinct may be to "mount" the controlled head on the first toy you find after starting a new round. There is nothing wrong with this, but if it is not a part of the body that you consider very useful (remember, each of them offers a different special skill), then continue looking for others.
If you find a more valuable toy somewhere on the map, you can detach from the currently used toy. You don't have to wait until the end of the round or until one of the players destroys your toy. You can detach from the lower body at any time - there are no penalties for doing this.
Charge throws and kicks
You charge an attack by holding the assigned key. Charged throws are especially useful when you are using grenades. A mine flies a greater distance, and a charged throw increases the chance that the attacked enemy won't be able to protect themselves.
The charged kick is useful, for example, during a soccer match. Hitting the ball with greater force makes it fly faster. Your shot has a better chance of going past the opponents and reaching the goal.
Learn every map
This is especially true for the most popular maps from the main game modes. While exploring a map, try to memorize the placement of the rooms and shelves, and pay great attention to the spawn points for toys and weapons. Thanks to this knowledge, you will have a better chance of getting to them before other players take them.
You can explore the maps during a normal match with other players, or create your own sessions and explore them as a warm-up while you are waiting for other people to join the game. Thanks to this solution, you will be able to look around everywhere.
Use the climbing mechanic to reach interesting places
Some maps in MisBits have a very vertical structure - they have multiple levels. You have to remember to explore higher shelves. Climbing higher platforms can help you get a better view on what is happening on the map, especially in Toy Hunters mode where you look for a specific toy.
When you reach the top shelves, you can also e.g. find toys and other valuable items. Many of them may be in perfect condition, as players are usually interested in items from the lower, more accessible, levels.
Beware of traps and chasms
In MisBits, it is very easy to die not only from enemy attacks but also by falling into an abyss or touching a trap (for example, the drills from the picture above). Usually, falling into a trap or into an abyss ends with the head's death. After that, you will have to wait a bit for a respawn.
Once again, a good knowledge of maps is very useful - you will know where to be more careful. This is especially true for those traps that only open for a short time and are hard to notice. We also advise you to increase the mouse sensitivity when rotating the camera. This will allow you to quickly move the mouse to determine whether you are near a trap or abyss.
Quickly move away from each lost toy
Run away when your toy/lower body is destroyed or stolen by another player. You can be sure that you will be targeted by an attacking player and other people in the area - they will treat you as an easy target and as a potential threat to their toys.
Start moving in any of the directions immediately after detaching from the toy. You can also click the left mouse button to launch the head. However, don't use this technique if there are any chasms or other hazards nearby.
Beware of exploding chickens
One of the toys in MisBits is chickens, and their unique feature is that they have a "kamikaze attack". This is their special ability - it makes them explode and either injure or kill all players who are within the explosion radius.
If you notice a chicken charging at you, start running away to get out of the possible area of the explosion. You can search for chickens and use them to attack other players - choose those who are busy fighting each other. There is a greater chance that they won't notice the chicken approaching them.
