Mission 11 | Walkthrough Lost Planet Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
In this mission you'll be piloting a new type of mech, several times more powerful than all the ones you've seen so far. The first section of the level sees you flying up a huge shaft. The funny thing here is that you don't have to fight the enemies at all - just hit Y to start gaining height and after a while you'll be facing the as-evil-as-it-gets Isenberg.
This boss is VERY easy once you catch the rhythm in which you have to attack it. Until you manage to learn that, he might be frustrating to fight. You have two attacks to choose from, drawn by holding either left or right trigger. No real differences between them as far as we know. The key to winning this battle is to feel the moment in which you let the trigger go, in other words: draw a punch. If you do that too soon or too slow, you'll be mercilessly countered.
Isenberg has a few different moves. His laser bursts can be easily evaded by flying parallel to himself. His rockets are quite slow and you should have no problem avoiding them or even shooting them down. The most troublesome of his attacks are the violet plasma beams that he summons after he looses some health. Avoiding them can seem tricky at first, but surely you'll have to get the hang of it.
All of the above won't be necessary, however, if you really catch the rhythm of the fight - he can be brought down so fast it's kind of disappointing that he's the final boss of such a fine game. I beat him on normal difficulty in, like, 40 seconds, getting away with it almost without a scratch. Surely you can do the same or even better.
