Little Nightmares: Beginner's Guide Little Nightmares Guide
Last update: 02 June 2021
On this page of the guide to Little Nightmares, you will find starting tips. Reading them should make it easier for you to progress through the game and reduce the number of deaths.
- Many moments of the game are intentionally very dark. Remember that your character can illuminate the area with a lighter. The game also encourages you to play in a dark room for better immersion.
- Little Nightmares is not a 100% linear game - in some dark areas, you can find e.g. secret passages leading to collectibles. Try to carefully explore all the locations.
- Your character dies when she falls from too high. If you get stuck in a particular place and decide to make a long jump, you may end up dead.
- Some parts (especially escape scenes) have a trial and error form. Be prepared to replay these parts several times. Try to avoid repeating the same mistakes.
- Checkpoints are rather frequent, so you shouldn't worry about losing too much progress.
- The majority of the interactive items in locations are completely useless - they serve mostly to increase the immersion.
- Remember that your character does not grab edges and shelves automatically. You have to press the button at the right time, otherwise, the character will fall down.
- It's easy to forget, but the heroine can make slides that can be very helpful in escaping from enemies.
- Watch out for the depth of field when you have to jump over gaps and narrow passages. You often have to cross something to the other side. This can be a little annoying when playing on the controller - one move with the analog stick in the wrong direction and your character will die.
