Free Running, Flowmotion and Airstepping in Kingdom Hearts 3 Kingdom Hearts III Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: 05 February 2019
Unlike earlier releases, Sora is much more mobile in Kingdom Hearts 3, and its range of movements has been significantly expanded. The biggest novelties include Free Running, Flowmotion and Airstepping, which are discussed in the following section of our guide.
Free Running
Sora has become very agile and can run vertically on some walls or enemies. Just point your hero to the wall and continue to move, and the character will automatically jump on him and run upwards. The walls you can jump on are slightly highlighted.
Flowmotion
Your hero can jump on columns and rotate around them, creating a strong area attack - you can also break out at a dizzying speed to reach enemies quickly. Occasionally, your character can also jump on some slides or cornices to slide down.
Airstepping
Press R1 to turn on the viewfinder - in some places, you can get Sora to jump to places that seem inaccessible. What's more, Airstepping can be used in combat to jump to enemies and shoot strong missiles at them.
