The quintessential Gwent Rogue Mage game is, of course, the cards, which you will find a whole lot of in the game. The cards differ in rarity, but also in their abilities, so it's worth getting to know all the mechanics well.

Types of cards
In Gwent: Rogue Mage, cards can be divided based on the type (unit, spell, etc.) and rarity.
- Gray: ordinary cards that usually don't offer additional abilities.
- Blue: better quality cards that can perform additional actions or have certain bonuses.
- Purple: higher rarity, with further bonuses.
- Gold: the highest quality cards, offering the best statistics or abilities.
Card reinforcement (Evolving)
In Gwent: Rogue Mage, cards can be reinforced (evolved) to increase their power. Such action can only be performed in certain ways:
- During battle - using cards that offer this ability.
- Defeating elite opponents - you can perform an Evolving of a key card.
- Using potions.
- During Events - you can reinforce a chosen card for the course of the particular expedition.
Acquiring cards
The simplest, and the most basic way of getting new cards in Gwent: Rogue Mage, is defeating regular opponents. Each won battle allows you to add a random card to you deck.
The second way of adding cards to your deck in Gwent: Rogue Mage is to open Treasure Chests. Just visit the chest icon on your map and you'll be able to immediately add a random card to your deck.
Another way of reinforcing the deck in Gwent: Rogue Mage is to reach a Place of Power, that are marked in blue. When visiting such a Point, one of your cards will be duplicated, thus reinforcing your deck.
The final way of reinforcing a deck with new cards is to take part in Events, but remember that not all events have the same course and rewards for completing them may vary.
