Important choices | Episode 1 - Tangled Up in Blue Guardians of the Galaxy Guide
Last update: 04 May 2017
This section contains a list of all major choices that take place during the first episode.
Choice #1
The first major choice happens in a bar, where the team celebrates their victory over Thanos. Rocket will accuse Drax of not having avenged his family, as Peter was the one who pulled the trigger. You can choose between two dialogue options:
- Of course you did! - You'll acknowledge that Drax put a lot of effort into the fight, and can be sure that he had managed to avenge his family.
- Technically, I did it - Peter will suggest that he was the one who killed Thanos, while Drax's role was rather insignificant.
If you've chosen the second option, Drax will be offended by your words and leave the bar. Moreover, some further conversations will be affected, as the hero will be distant and clearly touched by the fact that you've offended him.
Choice #2
The second major choice appears shortly after the first one. Gamora will reveal that she often thinks about her sister. You can use the opportunity to share your thoughts regarding their relationship.
- Stay away from her - tell Gamora that she should completely avoid any contacts with her murderous sister.
- She's still your sister - Remind Gamora that family is worth fighting for, and she shouldn't abandon her sibling.
If you've chosen the second option, the further part of the episode will contain a scene where Gamora engages in a video call with her sister.
Choice #3
The most important choice found in this episode. You have to decide whom to deliver Thanos' body:
- Call Collector - you can call the Collector and sell the body for a nice sum of money
- Call Nova Corps - or deliver the body to Nova Corps to score the reward for Thanos.
This choice yields some major consequences. The story will take a different course, as the Guardians will contact a different faction. This may influence some events seen in the further episodes. Moreover, you'll be witness to disputes between Gamora and Rocket, as both characters are strong supporters of both options.
Choice #4
This choice appears at the end of the first flashback. Peter's mother pleads with him to avoid violence if it isn't necessary. Your response can be as follows:
- I can't promise that - Peter won't agree with his mother, who will press him to at least promise her that he'll try to be more considerate.
- I will, I promise - Peter will agree to solve his conflicts in a peaceful way, if such way is of course possible.
The choice does not yield any consequences in the current episode. However, the nature of the choice suggests that it may come back in the further episodes.
Choice #5
A new choice appears once you've delivered Thanos' body and got through a short action sequence. Peter has to choose a crew member that will accompany him on board the enemy ship.
- Take Gamora
- Take Drax
A different companion means a number of changes into the course of the further mission. If you've chosen Gamora, you'll use a ventilation shaft to bypass the guards. If you've went with Drax, you'll take care of the guards through a short action sequence.
