In this chapter of the Gears Tactics guide, you will learn all about the most basic enemy - Drone.

This is the first enemy type you encounter in the game - your squad will fight them throughout the entire campaign. It has as many health points as your soldiers and uses similar movement and shooting tactics. A Drone relies on ranged weapons. He will always try to hide behind some obstacle or wall. If this is not possible, this enemy will switch to the Overwatch mode. It will usually secure the position of your troops or face in your direction. The enemy often does this in groups and, for example, 2 Drones can secure the position of your soldier. Without the support of other team members, that unit will receive a lot of damage. Don't order a soldier who is within the Overwatch mode to attack. These are "free" injuries that are better avoided.

The best defense is a good offense, so try eliminating enemies quickly. If a Drone hides behind a cover, flank him. Most of your soldiers can defeat a Drone with 1-2 attacks. You will often be able to bring the Drone down to his knees and execute. Executions are worth doing because you will receive additional action points and the enemy won't have the ability to heal a weakened enemy.

In a situation where the enemy is launching an attack, or when you don't have enough action points to finish off the enemy group - just split your troops and order them to use the Overwatch mode. During the enemy attack, you will significantly weaken the opponents and have a chance to stop them. An opponent in open space is an easy target for your soldiers.
