Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher for PC, SWITCH and PS4 is a fantasy action-adventure game developed by Prideful Sloth, a studio established by the veteran developers from Activison and Rocksteady.

The Plot

The game takes place on the magical island Gamea, and we play as either a boy, or a girl, who were sent there by their parents. Initially, the island seems to be a paradise, but our hero quickly finds out that some dark forces invaded it. Saving Gamea is our task here.

During our adventures we will learn the history of the island and its ihabitants. The game offers many side quests along with the main story.

Mechanics

The world of Yonder: The Cloud Catcher for PC, SWITCH and PS4 has an open-world structure. We will explore the island of Gamea, collect items, fight with the encountered enemies, and solve riddles. In all of our actions we will be aided by the friendly ghosts who posses the only power capable of dissipating the darkness.

Dangerous expeditions are not the only thing to do on Gamea. We can plant and gather crops, go fishing, brew drinks, cook, and craft items. Those activities will provide us with additional resources and make it easier for us to befriend the island’s inhabitatnts, whose help is very useful in our war aginst the darkness.

Gamea has eight regions that are different in terms of climate and geography, all the way from sandy beaches to mountain tops covered with snow. The night/day system and changing seasons make the game more diverse and influence the growth of our crops.
