Disco Elysium is an unusual, isometric RPG game that is the first title developed by Estonian studio ZA/UM. The game is focused mostly on narrative. It takes place in a fictional world that combines modern setting with fantasy traits and with retro-futuristic technologies. The player assumes the role of a policeman who is tired of life. He begins working on a case that can either give him a chance of redemption or take him to the very bottom. During the game player is exploring, completing tasks, speaking to various people and fighting. However, all of this is done in a way that is unusual for the genre. The dialogue system is similar to a logic game during which you must fight by using words and manipulate the person you speak with in various ways. The battles are based on dialogues as well – you must select various text descriptions of actions, trying to create a battle scene worthy of being placed in a good novel.

The overall feeling of the game is strongly inspired by classic action movies. The gameplay is a mix of various genres and during the game the player will participate in spectacular car chases, fly a police helicopter, chase after suspects on rooftops, and engage enemies in fist fights. An original strategy game with elements of adventure game developed by independent studio Weappy in cooperation with Team 17 Softworks. You take on the role of a chief of police who is about to retire. However, instead of safeguarding the law and order, he decides to use his authority and influence to make a fortune. To this end, the protagonist deals with the local representatives of criminal underground, while trying to keep his actions in the dark. This is the Police features two-layered gameplay, divided into plot and strategy. The former lets you follow the story of the main hero and build relations with key characters. The latter is about planning and execution of criminal operations, while carefully manipulating the actions of police. The result of the independent Polish studio Pixel Crow's cooperation with 11 bit studios, the creators of This War of Mine. Beat cop is a point-and-click time management game. You play as Jack Kelly, a former NYC detective who was framed for murder and demoted. Hated by everyone around, Jack is trying to reconcile his duties with conducting a private investigation in order to discover who framed him. The plot of Beat Cop is non-linear and its many endings depend on your decisions. Interestingly, the game was inspired by American crime TV shows from the 70s and 80s, which is reflected in its atmosphere and humor. The time-management element of the production is most visible when you're patrolling the streets of Brooklyn, while during the investigation segments it becomes a detective/adventure game. Beat Cop has a distinct retro feel thanks to its pixel-art graphics and oldschool soundtrack.

Another installment in the popular FPS franchise. Visceral Games, the studio known mainly for the excellent Dead Space sci-fi series, developed their first major installment in the long-standing Battlefield franchise. It's a result of the transition of the franchise to a two-year production cycle, similar to the one made by its competitor, Call of Duty. Unlike the previous parts, this one is focused on the efforts of police forces against organized crime. The player assumes the role of a young detective Nick Mendoza and has to face his former partners whose desire to get rich quickly pushed them to choose the life of crime. The production features an original method of storytelling reminiscent of popular police TV shows. Despite the introduction of a new theme, the characteristic features of the franchise remained unchanged: impressive arsenal of weapons, fully destructible environment – thanks to the Frostbite engine – and a well-developed multiplayer, in which you will find completely new game modes, such as Blood Money and Heist.

You assume the role of Cole Phelps, an ex-soldier who becomes a police officer after the war. The game lets you experience the key moments of Cole’s career, starting from the traffic police all the way through murder and drugs department. Gameplay is mainly about examining crime scenes in search of clues and evidence, as well as interrogating witnesses and suspects. The game also offers multiple action sequences, including pursuits (either on foot or by car), fist fights, and spectacular shootouts. When it comes to graphics, the most noteworthy feature are the realistic face expressions that allow you to judge the reactions of interogatees. A real-time strategy created by CyberphobX studio. The player assumes the role of Harvey Croft, a rookie police commander whose main task is to capture the mysterious leader of a crime syndicate called Imperio. The gameplay is comprised of managing the precinct, coordinating individual officer's actions, and generally-understood crime fighting on the streets of fictional city of Newport Falls. The last goal is possible thanks to obtaining evidence and using it to find the culprits. In Police Tactics: Imperio, budget and resource control are of primary concern. By racking up high-profile arrests, the player unlocks new precincts, units, and upgrades. Our subordinates get promoted to officers, or detectives, and as the time goes, we upgrade our garage with new police cars, or even helicopters which allow for better access to crime scenes. An interesting aspect of the game is the presence of German and American police cars. Additionally, the news about events in the game world are relayed by a radio, modeled after similar devices used by American law officers.

A tactical top-down shooter, and at the same time a debut production from Mighty Morgan. The main protagonists – John Rimes and Rick Jones – are police operatives specializing in high-risk operations, such as rescuing hostages and infiltrating gang hideouts. As the enemies need only 2-3 shots to kill the main protagonist, the players have to exercise caution and react quickly. What makes it all the more difficult is the fact that the main protagonists have to stick to police procedures, which prioritize apprehending the suspects without resorting to violence. Sometimes, however, the situation leaves you no choice. The gameplay is even more thrilling thanks to the line-of-sight system – our protagonists cannot see what is behind closed doors until they open them. Apart from the single player, where players preferring more solitary gaming experience have to rely on an AI partner, Police Stories offers the players a chance to join their forces in finishing all of the available missions in a co-op mode. The game also features two-dimensional pixel art visuals.
