Although once a project in development, Microprose's X-Com: Alliance was never released. It was supposed to be the next installment in the X-Com series that was popular in the 90s. Contrary to the main installments (those were extensive, turn-based strategies), X-Com: Alliance was a combination of standard FPS mechanics and tactical elements associated with such games as SWAT or the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series.

Stars of players will remember such titles as UFOs: Enemy Unknown or X-Com: Terror From The Deep. These games in their time caused a lot of confusion and won many followers. Released later on X-Com: Apocalypse wasn't a good enough game to impress players. Game developer - Microprose company decided to use the realities in which the action of the above games took place for a completely new project.

X-Com: Alliance Unlike previous titles, which were classic strategy tournaments, it is a combination of FPS game with elements of strategy like Rainbows Six. or SWAT series. To create it a modified engine Unreal was used. The player is provided with a team of commandos, whose aim will be to defeat more and more difficult missions taking place on several planets. Their ultimate goal is to find a safe return home.
