A mobile installment of the popular Worms series – strategic turn-based games in which heavily armed worms fight against each other. As usually, the title is developed by Team 17. Worms 4 is based on the well-known set of rules - there are two or more teams of worms and players who interchangeably control individual “soldiers.” The game comes down to dealing as much damage to enemies as possible in a given time frame.

Worms 4 Description
Worms 4 for AND and iOS is a turn-based battle strategy with arcade elements. The title is developed by Team 17 – the studio responsible for every previous instalment of the series.
Mechanics
The Worms series has always been faithful to the rules set by the first part and Worms 4 proves it. The basic mechanisms of the title are not changed – again, players engage in battles between teams of worms, fought on two dimensional levels. Battles are divided in turns and during each, a single unit is given a period of time to change position and attack. Worms are heavily armed, but most of the weapons are short-ranged. Due to this and the implementation of a quite-realistic physics engine, the player needs to take into consideration the trajectory of bullets and grenades. Making use of rebounds is also useful. Maps can be almost completely destroyed, so you can throw your opponent into water or “dig” yourself a shelter.
However, this does not mean that Worms 4 published on AND and iOS is just a copy of its pervious instalments. There are new features and changes that make the title a fresh experience for the series’ fans. Maps are substantially reduced and teams are smaller. This, combined with shorter turns, increases the pace of gameplay, which suits the mobile nature of the production just fine. Worms 4 introduces new kinds of weapons and locations featured in several game modes. Among them, there is an extensive single player campaign with 80 missions and a number of multiplayer modes, including traditional deathmatch and Vital Worm in which one unit becomes a VIP whose death means a defeat. The title features a co-operation mode in which two players combine their efforts in order to stand against waves of opponents.
Community aspects are also noteworthy – players choose whether to represent the red or the blue team. The results of combats between the two groups and finished challenges are summed up – every 24 hours the winning team earns useful bonuses.

The first commercial installment of the series was released in 1994 for personal computers (Amiga, PC and Mac) and fifth-generation consoles (PlayStation, Mega Drive and SNES). The title was considered an extremely successful combination of Cannon Fodder z Lemmings, thanks to which it very quickly gained great popularity among gamers. The development team of the studio Team17 Digital almost immediately began work on add-ons and a full-fledged sequel. In total, over the course of almost 30 years, more than 18 games included in the mainstream series were released, as well as a number of spin-offs and re-releases. Including the series lived to see its own battle royale mode, golf or pinball.
