SteamWorld Heist Description
SteamWorld Heist for PC, PS4 and etc. is another game from the independent Swedish studio Image & Form, set in the universe of SteamWorld, which combines the elements of Steampunk and Western genres. After the action-adventure SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Tower Defense, released only on Nintendo DS, this time we get an unusual 2D turn-based strategy.
Story
The story takes place some time after the events of SteamWorld Dig. A powerful cataclysm befell the entire planet and forced the remaining inhabitants to flee into space on steam space ships. In this “robot-eat-robot” world, where water supplies became one of the most scarce and most wanted resources, the only chance of surviving is raiding enemy bases and ships in order to loot the goods stored there. You play as a captain of a group of robo-pirates who are trying to survive in this post-apocalyptic reality by doing just that.
Gameplay
Your team is a motley crew made up of antiheroes whom you hire in a space bar. Your subordinates use various weapons, gadgets, and special abilities in combat, therefore, in order to win your battles you have to skillfully combine different tactics. Gameplay is turn-based, and when making an action your characters use up so-called movement points. Each action (movement, shooting, etc.) consumes a set number of points – therefore you have to think carefully, whether it is better to make one shot with a powerful gun or several weaker shots with a weaker one. Gameplay is also enriched by various gadgets (e.g. grenades) and special abilities (e.g. shots bouncing from the walls). When you win a skirmish you collect loot and return to the bar in order to hire new mercenaries.
Technology
The game’s graphics feature similar colorful stylistics as the previous one, although because of the different setting, this time the science-fiction landscapes are prevailing, such as interiors and corridors of space ships. SteamWorld Heist for PC, PS4 and etc. features an unusual perspective for a turn-based strategy, resembling classic side-scrolling platformers.

The series SteamWorld was created by the Swedish development studio Image & Form, which developed the vast majority of the items making it up.
