Vagante is a 2D platformer with roguelike elements. This challenging game offers a huge number of possibilities. The production is developed by independent Nuke Nine.

Plot

The action of Vagante takes place in a dark, fantasy universe filled with monsters, demons, and murderers. Still, there are many fortune seekers that are travelling this world, regardless of the dangers. The player is one of them. Our mission is to unravel a puzzle concerning a mysterious cave which, according to legends, hides incredible treasures that took many lives of those who were after them.

Mechanics

Vagante is a 2D platformer with roguelike elements. The game comes down finishing numerous levels, which takes a lot of skilful jumping and fighting your way through opponents. Before the beginning, you can customise your hero’s looks, background, and class. The type of a class influences the skills you have, which unlock with the game’s and hero’s progress. During gameplay, you gain items, including powerful, enchanted artefacts that grant additional abilities.

The game by Nuke Nine features procedurally-generated levels of a few kinds. There are always secrets to reveal – everything you unlock is saved in The Book of Secrets. What is important, the player has only one life, so death translates into starting all over again.

Game modes

Vagante can be played solo or with friends in co-op (via the Internet or locally in split-screen).

Technical aspects

Vagante utilises 2D, pixel-art visuals which are mesmerising due to an interesting and atmospheric design of levels. Light effects also deserve some recognition.
