[1:33] Rising Hell trailer #1
PlayStation Universe: 8 / 10
Rising Hell's verticality and butter-like combat system make it feel unique in an increasingly popular genre. It looks awesome, sounds fantastic and for its price point, it's definitely worth your time. While you will not be playing for hundreds of hours, your relatively short time slaying demons will be fast, frenetic and very enjoyable.
One More Game: by Chris Garcia
Rising Hell is a great entry by Tahoe Games, offering a unique take on the genre. The game is simple enough to understand and pick up and play by even newcomers but offers just enough challenge to cater to fans of the genre. While the lack of depth, especially with builds that directly affect replayability, is disappointing, this is overshadowed because of the rather small but very talented dev team.
Noisy Pixel: 8.5 / 10
Rising Hell is a standout roguelite that isn’t trying to break your budget. Those new to the genre and diehards alike will find plenty of depth to this challenging skill-based experienced. Its lasting power is yet to be seen, but bursts of gameplay provide enough to warrant multiple playthroughs as you try to get further. Rising Hell delivers a unique spin on the roguelite formula and creates a balanced experience for any who plays.
Rising Hell Description
Rising Hell is an action platform game with roguelike elements. It was developed by Tahoe Games and Toge Productions.
Plot
Rising Hell takes us on a journey to the very heart of hell. We play the role of a character who, wishing to leave the abyss and regain freedom, must face its rulers and their henchmen.
Game mechanics
Rising Hell is a side-scroller. We traverse hell, which is climbing upwards. Jumping on platforms, avoiding numerous traps, and facing hordes of enemies, meter by meter we approach the exit from the afterlife.
Various opponents stand in our way, with whom we fight dynamic skirmishes. In addition to serial enemies, who appear here in wholesale quantities, from time to time we have to face powerful bosses. Before we can face Beelzebub himself, i.e. the ruler of hell, who resides in his lair full of vermin, we first have to eliminate his fellows (like Dagon). As we progress, we gain new attacks, spells and skills, thanks to which our combat potential grows over time. In addition, our chances of victory are increased by the perks we collect along the way.
At the same time, it is worth remembering the permadeath mechanic, through which, if we fall, we have to start the whole arduous crossing over again. Nevertheless, thanks to the fact that the locations are procedurally generated, as well as thanks to the new characters we unlock during the game (each of them has individual abilities), successive journeys through hell look different from the previous ones.
Game modes
Rising Hell offers campaign modes and special challenges. They are equipped with separate leaderboards, on which we can boast about our results.
Technical aspects
Graphics in Rising Hell is made in pixel art technique. We can also listen to gothic-metal soundtrack. An atmospheric gothic-metal soundtrack accompanies us as we play.
