Unity of Command II: Berlin Description
Unity of Command II: Berlin is the ninth expansion to the turn-based strategy game titled Unity of Command II released in 2019. The DLC is the result of cooperation between the authors of the original, the independent team named 2x2 Games, and the Croteam studio, known mainly for the Serious Sam and The Talos Principle series.
New features in the expansion
Unity of Command II focuses on the activities of the Red Army on the Eastern Front of World War II in 1944-1945. There are 25 scenarios, including the Korsun Cauldron (encirclement and brutal battle inflicted on the Germans by the Soviet Union's forces at Korsun), the end of the siege of Leningrad, Operation Bagration (often referred to as the greatest defeat of the Wehrmacht), and finally the fall of Berlin.
This is not the end, because the expansion also offers a mini-campaign dedicated to the Axis forces - Balaton 45. 7 scenarios of that campaign allow us to influence the course of history by leading the last German offensive in Hungary and Romania in 1945.
The DLC introduces updates to the statistics of units and specialists fighting on both sides of the barricade, expands the map range to include the territories of Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania, and also brings new unit models representing the Soviet Union, partisans from Yugoslavia, Hungarian soldiers or even participants of the German Volkssturm (a kind of general mobilization).
Game modes
Similar to the base version of the game, Unity of Command II: Berlin allows for single-player fun and local multiplayer mode (as part of the so-called "hot seat").
Technical aspects
Unity of Command II: Berlin is not a standalone DLC, so it requires the base game Unity of Command II.
