Fall Weiss Description
Fall Weiss is an attempt, taken by Wastelands Interactive Studios (Strategic War in Europe, Storm over the Pacific) to familiarize gamers with the events of the September Campaign and the beginning of World War II in form of a classic turn-based strategy game.
Accordingly with the title, the game is set in 1939 on the territories of Poland, which becomes the target of invasion of the Third Reich and the Soviet Union. The player has the opportunity to learn about the conflict from the perspective of each side.
The war takes place on a map of Poland consisting of more than 20.000 hexes. The creators put a lot of emphasis on fidelity to historical facts, which resulted in, among others, careful mapping of over 700 units, including such formations as lancers, Stukas and panzers. There are also authentic commanders in the game and photographs from the period.
The game allows you to fight land and air battles, however, it does not have economics. Therefore, the fights are very tactical in nature, because the player must use limited, predetermined forces. Clever management of the available troops is a key element of the game.
