Gameplay

TRON RUN/r for PC, PS4 and XONE was inspired by a genre popular on mobile devices, known as endless runner. The game introduces a series of changes to the genre, in order to fit into the specifics of regular gaming systems. It is a third person perspective game in which the player controls the protagonist wearing overalls and trying to make his way through a series of levels located in a virtual reality present in the films. Each route the player has to complete is filled with different traps and other threats. Avoiding these requires very quick reflexes.

Contrary to endless runners existing on the mobile devices, TRON RUN/r features no infinite or randomly generated routes - each was manually designed and has its starting and ending points. There are two types of routes: those requiring the player to sprint them through, and the other, in which the player rides a motorcycle. The motorcycle sequences are faster, but those involving running make it necessary to perform various tricks, such as wall-runs for example.

The gameplay in TRON RUN/r for PC, PS4 and XONE is diversified by occasional combat sequences. During the gameplay, the player also collects items that allow to activate time-limited bonuses and upgrades that make it easier to complete the route. After crossing the finish line, the player can compare their score with the results of others among the game community.
