Troll's Tale Description
Troll's Tale is a simple adventure for children from Sierra On-Line, which was developed in 1983 by the later originator of the Leisure Suit Larry - Al Lowe series. The game allows you to play the role of the hero, who, on command of the lovingly reigning King Mark, begins the search for sixteen objects, stolen from the ruler of the fantastic land by a wicked troll.
Among the treasures stolen are not only valuable items such as a bag of gold or a diamond ring, but also useful items such as a torch or a gift. The latter can be used to explore some locations and thus move the game forward. The equipment robbed by the creature is scattered in various places all over the land. Find items can only be taken with you if there is no troll in the vicinity. If the thief is on the same board, you first have to get rid of him in some way and then come back for the treasure.
Troll's Tale is a text-based adventure, but you don't have to enter any keyboard commands during the struggle, as is the case with other Sierra On-Line products, such as King's Quest series. The product goes to the user's hand and gives ready-made orders from which the right one is selected. This applies both to commands responsible for wandering, as well as commands related to the use of possessed objects.
The product is characterized by poor low resolution visuals (CGA) and very modest sound, consisting of just a few Speaker's PC squeaks. However, it is worth emphasizing here that each location in the game is colored with a simple illustration, which at the beginning of the 1980s was not the norm.
