The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is an action adventure game based on a book adaptation of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This title was created by Surreal Software. The game uses a 3D graphics engine previously used in Drakan 2.

Plot

The plot of the game is based on the first book of the trilogy in which four hobbits, following the advice from Gandalf, set off on their way to Rivendell to seek help from the dignified Elrond. The hobbits are constantly chased by the Nazgul - dark riders. The hobbits also encounter new enemies and make new friends. The mysterious Tom Bombadil saves them from the branches of Old Willow in the Dark Forest, and then from the hands of the ghosts of the barrow. In the town of Bree, they meet Strider, the next companion of the journey, who leads them to their destination. The game is an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's original novel rather than its film adaptation, in which several important plot lines and characters have been omitted.
