Action game enriched with tactical elements, in which players take on the role of agents fighting against each other in three-dimensional arenas. Although in Trap Runner we can use melee attacks and firearms, the basic weapon used by the heroes are murderous traps, which become invisible to enemies when set up.
Trap Runner is an arcade action game with tactical elements. The title is known as Trap Gunner: Countdown to Oblivion in the United States and Japan and was developed by Racdym.
Story
In Runner Trap the player takes on the role of one of the six special agents. The heroes have been manipulated and sent to fight against each other by the sinister GAIN organization, which is planning to get rid of them in this way, all so that nothing stands in its way to take control of the world.
Mechanics
In Trap Runner the action is shown in an isometric view. The pillar of the game are duels between two agents. Although each participant can use both firearms and hand-to-hand attacks on the battlefield, their basic weapon are the eponymous traps, which become invisible to the adversary once set up. The devs provide us with several types of traps - we can use mines, poisonous gas, remotely detonated bombs, snares depriving the opponent of the ability to move, or finally a force field, pushing the opponent in a certain direction. Due to the fact that a single trap does not usually deal too much damage, success requires us to combine them into murderous sets and chain reactions. It is worth remembering to search the battlefield in search of power-ups supplementing our arsenal and regenerating health.
Game modes
The main game mode in Trap Runner is the story mode, in which we have an opportunity to get to know each of the six protagonists more closely. In addition, the devs enabled us to wnter a single fight against an AI-controlled player or to fight a multiplayer duel with a a live opponent.
