The plot tells about the return of the titular robots to Earth which sparks another war between the good Autobots and the evil Decepticons.

Transformers: Earth Wars is a mobile RTS released on iOS and Android. The game was developed by Space Ape Games and uses the free to play model with microtransactions.

Story

The game is set during the so-called Generation 1, i.e. the first and most acclaimed among the fans version of the franchise. The script was written by Simon Furman, who has created more than a few hundred comics set in this universe. Transformers: Earth Wars tells the story of the return of the title robots to Earth, which makes it a place of another war between the good Autobots and evil Decepticons.

The script contains many nods for the fans of the franchise, although it cannot be denied that the story is still mainly a pretext for fun and players who are not interested in it can simply ignore it.

Mechanics

Transformers: Earth Wars has the player chooses on which side of the conflict he or she will stand. Each faction has unique buildings, units, and technologies. The gameplay mostly remains true to typical mobile RTS solutions, popularized by Clash of Clans. Therefore, we mainly deal with the expansion of the base, collecting resources, constructing new buildings or improving existing ones and conducting research on new technologies. At the same time, it is necessary to build defensive structures capable of repelling the attacks of enemy forces. Moreover, our task is to recruit an army, which we use to attack enemy bases.

The biggest attraction for the fans of the franchise is, of course, the opportunity to take command of a team to fight with the most famous transformers. In total, there are over forty of them in the game, including such legends as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Grimlock, and Starscream. Each of the robots has unique abilities, which significantly influence the course of the battles. For example, Optimus Prime transforms into a truck and in this form is able to ram enemy defense structures, Starscream can call air support, and Ratchet can repair damage to his comrades.

Game modes

Transformers: Earth Wars boasts an extensive single-player campaign in which we have to fight a series of battles against artificial intelligence. The real heart of the game lies, however, in multiplayer mode, enabling us to attack other users and defend ourselves against invasions from their side. Users can create their own guilds and take part in a large online war, which changes from week to week depending on the results of individual battles.
