Totemic is an action adventure game with RPG elements. The game was developed by the independent studio Collage Games and released by Humble Games, a company that has in its portfolio such games as Ring of Pain, Slay the Spire and Prodeus.
Totemic takes us on a journey to a fantastic world that is on the verge of extinction. During the game we play the role of a fearless warrior named Mara. The heroine sets off on a long journey, during which she will have to discover her heritage and find a way to deal with the danger threatening the whole land.
In Totemic we observe the action from the top-down view. The world presented consists of six regions, which differ in terms of their appearance, enemies and tasks waiting to be performed. Although the driving force of the game are missions pushing the story forward, the fight against the adversaries plays an important role in it.
The clashes are dynamic, and our primary weapon is Mara enchanted axe. However, this is not the end of it, as the girl is able to absorb the powers of the defeated enemies, which in turn allows her to change her form and gain additional skills and attacks. These, in turn, are useful both on the battlefield (especially during battles with bosses) and outside it (for example when solving ingenious puzzles).
The graphic design of Totemic was made in pixel art technique, which to some extent makes it similar to the genre from the 16-bit era.
