Tomb Raider: Legend for PSP, PS2 and etc. is a big, long-awaited comeback of Lara Croft. Similarly to previous instalments, this is an adventure game filled with puzzles and action. Tomb Raider: Legend is developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive.
Plot
The main objective in Tomb Raider: Legend is finding a particular English artefact exported abroad without the owner’s knowledge. What is interesting, the person responsible for that is Lara’s old friend, who was thought to have been dead. Tomb Raider: Legend surely goes back to the roots of the series. Following the stolen piece of art, you will visit many countries in which Lara mainly wanders through dark caves and forgotten, overgrown with vegetation temples and palaces.
Mechanics
This part of Lara’s adventures witnessed many upgrades in all aspects. Close combat initiated if approached by an enemy and Lara can pick weapons dropped by her enemis. Many of her moves have been improved; using a rope to get to higher places, focusing on an interesting item or place, sneaking and rolling over. The game introduces new gadgets that make gameplay more interesting, like a rope, a flashlight, and special infra-red glasses. Of course, the elements that made the previous titles famous appear also in this game, namely the two guns, logic puzzles, and the exploration.
Technical aspects
Tomb Raider: Legend published on PSP, PS2 and etc. features advanced visuals thanks to excellent graphics and physics engines. Water and fire effects make a great impression. Also, the engines allow a high degree interaction with the world. AI and audio also are at a very high level.
