This is Football, released on PS1 in 1999, is a sports game focusing on a realistic representation of football matches. The production was created by Soho studio, responsible for such titles as Spice World and both installments of The Getaway series. The game was well-received by fans of the genre, giving rise to the series which, between 1999-2004, was released on PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable.
Mechanics
This is Football, released on PS1, is a football simulator. The gameplay during the matches is characterized by considerable fluidity, making it a solid alternative to FIFA or ISS Pro (now known as Pro Evolution Soccer) series available on the same hardware platform. The official licenses allowed the creators to put 230 original teams and 20 authentic tournaments into production. Among them, we can play in such events as World Championships, European Championships and Champions League. The extensive editor allows you to create your own unique teams and competitions.
Technical aspects
This is Football features three-dimensional graphics. The events on the pitch are accompanied by a professional sports commentary by Clive Tyldesley, the legendary ITV commentator.
