A narrative adventure game telling the story of a creature made by a young doctor, Frankenstein, who learns about the world. The emotions he feels are reflected in the appearance of the location, the music and the gameplay itself, depending on the player's actions.
The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature is a narrative adventure game based on the motifs of Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus novel by Mary Shelley. The game was developed by the independent French studio La Belle Games.
Plot
The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature tells the story of a being created by young Dr. Frankenstein. Although its appearance seems to indicate that we are dealing with an adult, its body is enchanted by the soul of a child who does not yet understand the world around itself. The way our creation begin to perceive reality depends on the decisions we make during the game.
Mechanics
In The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature, the action is shown from bird's eye view. The game involves wandering through picturesque locations and showing them to the eponymous creature, as well as making choices that affect its emotions - from anger, through madness, to sadness. The emotional state of our creation influences the appearance of individual locations, music accompanying the game and finally the gameplay itself, which increases the replayability of the described position.
Technical aspects
The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature features colorful graphics in an original style that make it look like a moving picture painted with watercolours.
