The Flock PC

The Flock is a post-apocalyptic action game, designed exclusively for multiplayer skirmishes; the indie studio of Vogelsap is responsible for developing the production.

The action of the title takes place on Earth in the year 3000; the authors introduce us to a grim vision of our planet’s future, where humanity has been extinct for a long time and the contaminated atmosphere is clouded so densely, that sunlight can no longer reach the surface. As a direct result, the world becomes colder with each passing year; one of the last species, which inhabit this twisted environment, are the hideous creatures known as the Flock; they lead their miserable existence hiding deep underground, where the planet’s core supplies grants them with the smidge of heat they need to survive.

The players begin their adventure as a typical specimen of the Flock. Their main task is to find the Light Artifact, which transforms them into a creature known as the Carrier, a fragile, but also more humanlike being. After a player becomes the Carrier he immediately becomes the target of every representant of the Flock, as everyone covet the Light Artifact for themselves; we win the match if we manage to hold the artifact and withhold the onslaught of the other players for a specific period of time.

The sides of the conflict are asymmetric, which means, that the Flock and the Carries each possess their own, unique abilities; the first faction is both faster and stronger than the latter, which makes hunting much simpler; however, the Carriers make up for their physical weakness with the cleaver usage of the Light Artifact – direct contact with the sunlight it generates is deadly for moving members of the Flock, they can only survive by remaining perfectly still.
