Super Destronaut DX is an improved version of Super Destronaut, a shoot’em up inspired by genre classic like the cult Space Invaders. The title was developed by an independent studio Petite Games and it was published by Ratalaika Games.

Mechanics

In Super Destronaut DX, the players control a spaceship and are tasked with eliminating hordes of enemies. While the enemies are coming from the top of the screen and creating various formations, the players’ jet can only fly to the sides.

In order to score as many points as possible, the players must avoid enemy bullets and use various weapons like a machine gun (it can shot with single or triple series), a laser cannon, a rocket launcher, and bombs.

Game modes

Super Destronaut DX features thirty varied challenges and three gameplay modes – Classic Mode, Time Attack, and Hardcore Mode. The game can be played alone or in a multiplayer mode. The players can share their achievements on Internet scoreboards.

Technical aspects

The two-dimensional graphics of Super Destronaut DX use a pixel art style. Although the game is inspired by 8-bit titles, the graphics were enriched with modern special effects.
