Stronghold: Castles

Stronghold: Castles is a mobile spin-off of the popular series of strategy games, combining elements of city builders and war titles. The game was developed by the Firefly Studios team, which has been overseeing the development of the brand from the very beginning, and is distributed in a free-to-play model (free with microtransactions).

Gameplay

The gameplay in Stronghold: Castles is based on the scheme prepared for the main installments of the series. The whole thing has been modified to the specifics of mobile devices. All the responsibilities related to the management of medieval estates rest on our shoulders.

We must therefore watch over agriculture, extract raw materials, monitor production processes, construct various buildings (warehouses, public utility buildings, military structures and others) and finally keep an eye on financial matters (it is worth being careful not to go too far with the tax rates).

This is not the end, because our main focus should be the titular castle, which we expand over time, gradually transforming it into a fortress capable of withstanding any siege. And speaking of sieges – warfare also plays an important role here. We can build and send armies consisting of various units – from knights to archers.

Battles take place in real time and can be fought both with other players (attacking their strongholds or defending our headquarters against invasions) and with opponents controlled by artificial intelligence, such as the Rat, Pig, Snake and Wolf, known to fans.

Stronghold: Castles allows to play alone or in multiplayer mode over the Internet.
