Still Wakes the Deep Description
Still Wakes the Deep is a psychological horror adventure action game. It was developed by The Chinese Room, also known for Dear Esther, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
Plot
Still Wakes the Deep is set in 1975. The game takes place on the Beira D drilling platform on the freezing North Sea, off the coast of Scotland. We play as one of the facility's employees, fighting for survival against a gigantic storm and an unknown threat lurking on the platform. He must face the danger in order to live and to save his fellow workers.
Mechanics
Still Wakes the Deep is a first-person game (FPP). The player must traverse the platform, run, climb, swim through flooded corridors and not let the powerful waves knock us over. In order to survive and complete our objectives we must interact with the devices on the platform, lock the doors behind us and stay vigilant for the relentless, mysterious foe stalking us. We can't confront it directly, as the protagonist is defenseless, armed only with cunning and determination.
Technical aspects
Still Wakes the Deep features high-quality visuals. The detailed locations and realistic lighting are both especially appealing. The audio is just as impressive; both the atmospheric soundtrack and the professional Scottish voice actors.
