Mechanics
We play the role of the captain of a space cruiser. We start by creating our ship. We can choose the type of hull and its color as well as all internal components, such as engines, on-board ambulatory or power shield generators. After constructing the unit, we set out to search for a suitable crew. Each member is a separate character, with his or her skills and stat point. Over time, our subordinates will advance to new military ranks, providing them with new powerful skills such as the ability to use tactical grenades (ideal for defending from intruders) or shields protecting us against lasers. It is also possible to teach the crew to treat the dying companions. The ship itself is not static and there is an option to improve and expand it by buying new parts.
With a ship and crew, we set off to explore space in search of alien civilizations. Some of the alien races we encounter are friendly while others will react to our arrival with aggression. The space battles are, of course, an important part of the game. Not only is it necessary to attack enemy ships (e.g. using laser cannons and plasma torpedoes), but also to take care of the condition of the unit and repair damage on an ongoing basis. If the enemy disrupts our shields and pierces the hull, the people in the section will be sucked into the space void, and damage to the on-board system will affect the operation of the entire unit. Some aliens are also able to teleport to the interior of our spaceship, forcing the crew to grab blasters and deal with intruders. Research also plays an important role. Thanks to them, we get access to new technologies that will prove useful when exploring space. We can also catch alien life forms and store them on board.
