Spilled! is a relaxing production dedicated to environmental themes, in which we are engaged in cleaning up w?ds and coasts. The title is the debut work of Lente, a freelance author from the Netherlands, who herself lived on a small boat during the production of her first such large-scale project. The creation of this item was made possible, among other things, thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
Gameplay
In Spilled! we watch the events in an isometric view. The game was prepared in such a way that it can be completed in about an hour.
Great cleanup
During the gameplay we take control of a boat, and our task is not only to deal with puddles of oil lying on the waters, but also to clean up the plastic floating on the surface, put out fires, rescue animals or search for lost objects.
The adventure takes us through 8 areas, differentiated by size and degree of pollution. Cleaning up a level in its entirety gives us access to the next level.
Reward for effort
As we progress, we collect coins that we can use to upgrade our boat. While with a larger collector we can deal with larger spills and collect more waste in one go, getting a more spacious oil tank allows us to collect more of it, while upgrading the engine allows us to develop higher speeds.
In a way, the reward for our efforts is also the increasingly clear water in each location; as we clean up, we gradually discover the life going on beneath its surface.
