Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions Description
Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions is the second installment in the series of puzzle games. Players assemble round images resembling stained glass from the scattered pieces of glass. In contrast to its predecessor, instead of discovering scenes associated with a given country, this time players get to know a rather enigmatic history full of oneiric meanings. The game was developed by Onyx Lute studio.
Mechanics
Upon starting the game, the player is shown a map placed on the background of a compass with 31 tasks to carry out. These are interlinked and most of them are not available from the beginning. In order to gain access to new locations on the map, we need to successfully complete different puzzles, for which we get special keys.
The elements of the puzzle in Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions do not resemble the shape of the standard ones, but rather are associated with broken pieces of glass, which can pose a challenge even for puzzle veterans. Shapes are irregular and the more difficult the puzzle, the smaller elements it consists of.
There are two difficulty levels in the game - normal and hard. The difference is that in hard mode the elements have to be rotated to match the picture correctly. At the normal level, however, when grabbing an element, it already is set at the right angle and it only needs to be correctly positioned in the right place inside the picture.
Technical aspects
The illustrations that players arrange in Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions seem to be on the verge of a dream and a fantasty world. Various monsters and miraculous creatures are torn from the Dark Wonderland.
The soundtrak in the game was written by Nikita Sevalnev - the same composer, who created the soundtrack for the first installment in the series. The music is equally good here and perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the game thanks to the calm symphonic pieces.
