The fourth title in a series initiated by the cult SimCity. The aim of the game is to create a self-sustainable ecosystem and to study the interaction between different forms of life and the environment. We do this by modifying various climate parameters or genetic crosses of plant and animal organisms.

The fourth Maxis game from the series started in 1989 by the cult SimCity. The title is in a sense a continuation of the ideas presented in SimEarth. This time we are dealing with a simulation of an ecosystem in which we place genetically modified fauna and flora.

The aim of the game is to create a self-sustainable ecosystem and, through experimentation, to study the interaction between different forms of life and the environment. Players can manipulate plant and animal genetics to see if the species is able to adapt and survive in changing conditions. An unquestionable advantage of the game is the educational aspect.

SimLife gives us the opportunity to play one of the previously prepared scenarios, or any game in which we have an influence on all elements - from shaping ecosystem parameters such as climate, temperature and sunshine, to genetic crosses of different plant and animal organisms. New species can be modified in several dozen different ways using sliders. In this way we can, for example, create a voracious and uncontrolled species, which will quickly contribute to the extinction of other organisms and, consequently, to a drastic change in the ecosystem.
