Another "sim" in Maxis' output is a voice in the discussion on a national health care system that broke out in the United States under President Clinton's administration. This is also the first game in the series, the creation of which was entrusted to an external development company, in this case the Thinking Tools studio.

The player's goal is to create an efficient and sustainable health care system. We do this by selecting and adapting different care plans for different families from different social and economic backgrounds in the USA. The effects of our activities can be observed and modified on an ongoing basis thanks to the system of advanced statistics.

Because of the serious, socially engaged game theme, the only link between SimHealth and the previous titles of the series is the user interface. The game shown in isometric projection is filled with a variety of tables, data, statistics and mathematical equations. Because of this, it is one of the most difficult games in the series and is definitely for very advanced players looking for unusual challenges.
