The next installment in an iconic survival horror series by Konami, described as a "new form of entertainment". Silent Hill: Ascension was co-developed by four studios: Genvid, Bad Robot Games, Behaviour Interactive and dj2 Entertainment.
Silent Hill: Ascension is one of the more innovative projects in the iconic Silent Hill series - survival horror games published by Konami. The game was announced alongside four other games during the Silent Hill: Transmission in the second half of October 2022. It was co-developed by several teams: Genvid Entertainment, Bad Robot Games, Behaviour Interactive and dj2 Entertainment.
Plot
The title doesn't feature a strictly defined storyline. It's an interactive event of sorts, during which we follow many different characters all throughout the world. Monsters aren't tied to a single place or character, posing a real threat to their loved ones as well.
Silent Hill: Ascension is an unusual online production, which the CEO of Genvid, Jacob Navok, called a "social experiment". The project's participants shape the story and the world through their decisions. Even the creators themselves are not sure how the plot will unfold.
Mechanics
The event has been divided into a series of small streams watched by a large number of viewers. At the end of each stream, players are faced with a moral choice. The vote is available for one day after the stream's end. The further course of the plot is determined by vote majority.
Technical aspects
The project is more of an interactive movie, featuring realistic, 3D visuals, introducing new monsters and locations.
Other information
SILENT HILL: Ascension - Cinematic Story Trailer was released on May 30, 2023. The event is one-time only, it's therefore likely the alternate plot threads will never be revealed.

Silent Hill is a series of action adventure games of the survival horror genre, which is one of the most popular brands of Konami - a Japanese manufacturer and publisher, also responsible for the creation of such series as Metal Gear, Pro Evolution Soccer (currently eFootball) or Castlevania. The original title was released in 1999 for Sony consoles. On January 31 the game was released in the US, while on March 4 it was released in Japan and on August 1 in Europe.
