Brothers in Arms Video Game Series
Set in the realities of World War II, the series of tactical action games was inspired by the TV series Company of Brothers. The series is sometimes counted as one of the most important brands in the development output of Texas-based studio Gearbox Software.
The series debuted in 2005 with the game Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 released in versions for PC and PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles (the Nintendo Wii port was created in 2008). The production was very well received among critics (the average rating on metacritic.com exceeded 85/100) and players, and the good sales results encouraged the developers to develop the idea. The sequel - Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood was released later that year. Definitely longer, until 2008, fans had to wait for the third full-fledged installment of the series -. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. The brand is complemented by spin-offs (including. Brothers in Arms: D-Day i Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front) addressed to mobile consoles and smartphones.
The plot of the games included in the mainstream series revolves around the fate of soldiers of Company F of the 502nd Paratrooper Regiment in the 101st Airborne Division. W Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 i Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway the player takes on the role of Staff Sergeant Matthew Baker, while in Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood the protagonist is Sergeant Joe "Red" Hartsock. During the game, however, there is an opportunity to direct the actions of each subordinate soldier in the squad.
The gameplay combines tactical elements and dynamic shooting sequences. The action is shown from a first-person perspective (FPP), although the spin-offs also feature a view from behind the heroes' backs.
High-quality, three-dimensional visuals in the games of the series Brothers in Arms is generated based on Unreal technology. In the case of the first two installments of the series, it was the second-generation Unreal Engine, while in Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway the developers used a modified version of Unreal Engine 3.

A three-dimensional World War II shooter developed by Gameloft. The main protagonist is Sergeant Wright, who after landing in Normandy continues the military offensive on territories occupied by the Nazis. He is accompanied by a small group of men, each member of which has unique equipment and skills. The game features only a story campaign, which consists of eight missions. During them the player participates in open shootouts with enemies and performs stealth missions. The action is presented with a third-person perspective – the first-person perspective is used only while precisely aiming. Because of that and the presence of a cover system, despite the large number of enemies the action is rather slow paced. During the fights the player can use special attacks (like an airstrike, rockets, Molotov’s cocktails) and the gameplay mechanics feature RPG traits like statistics upgrading and developing the skills of members of the squad.
