The third installment of the series of turn-based, science-fiction strategy games developed by Altar Interactive studio. The plot of UFO: Afterlight is set shortly after the events depicted in its predecessor, and takes place on the surface of Mars, where the inhabitants of a human colony discover the remains of a mysterious, highly-developed alien civilization. As a result of the excavation works, an ancient defense mechanism gets activated, which results in hordes of battle robots attacking the colonists. The future of the colonists lies in the player's hands. When it comes to the gameplay, the base mechanics don’t differ much from the previous installments, with the main novelty being the completely new environment. However, the authors implemented a new system of resource management, increased the number of technologies and the influence of diplomacy, and added new types of enemies as well as the ability to terraform Mars’s surface.

A continuation of UFO: Aftermath from 2003, a game based on the mechanics of the cult-classic 90’s game from Microprose. The plot of the game takes place in 2054 – 50 years after the catastrophe that changed the Earth’s surface into an inhospitable area. When a conflict between the decimated society and the corrupted authorities has led to the destruction of the last safe colony, the humanity has been forced to return to the ravaged Earth, and re-take it piece by piece from Alien hands. When it comes to mechanics, UFO: Aftershock tries to expand the solutions employed by its predecessor. The developers have considered the players’ feedback, introducing more interactions with the environment, and considerably improved the development of the player’s subordinates. Nevertheless, we are still dealing with a hybrid of a strategy game and a tactical action game in the vein of the classic UFO, in which we manage our base and fight groups of Aliens.

A turn-based real-time strategy game by Altar Interactive, referencing the cult bestseller of the 90s, UFO: Enemy Unknown. The action of UFO: Aftermath takes us to a not so distant future in which human civilization was reduced to a handful of survivors due to an alien invasion. With time, the survivors had organized and began to fight the invaders, and the player’s task is to lead them to victory. Mechanics-wise, the game draws a lot of inspiration from its predecessor. On one hand, we focus on developing a base and technology as well as taking over and adapting alien tech. On the other, turn-based combat that lets us use a wide arsenal of weapons and extraterrestrial inventions. As we progress, our soldiers also gain experience which gives them new skills and traits.
