Secret Files: Sam Peters
Adventure 18 October 2013
Another installment in the Secret Files series of adventure games developed by Animation Arts. The title is not a direct continuation of its predecessors but a spin-off in which the player controls a completely new female protagonist. In Secret Files: Sam Peters the player assumes the role of the titular reporter who appeared in the second installment of the series. In search for a hot topic she travels to sunny Ghana where it was discovered that genetic code of the animals that live in the lake was changed due to a meteorite crash. As one can guess, many dangers will stand on the way of the protagonist and many times will Sam Peters have to decide how far she will dare to go. Except for a completely new story, the new installment of Secret Files series doesn’t differ from its predecessors and is still a classic example of a point-and-click adventure game.
Secret Files 3: The Archimedes Code
Adventure 31 August 2012
The third installment in the classic point ‘n’ click adventure game series that was launched in 2006. In Secret Files 3: The Archimedes Code, we assume the role of the well-known pair of protagonists, Nina Kalenko and Max Gruber (optionally, two other characters, as well), yet again. This time around, the heroes try to solve the mystery of the Pi. During their adventure not only do they visit various corners of our planet but also a post-apocalyptic world and even travel back in time to the ancient Alexandria and renaissance Florentia. Traditionally, our tasks involve exploring locations, gathering and using items, talking to non-player characters, and solving various kinds of puzzles that include numerous arcade logic mini-games. Contrary to its predecessors, Secret Files 3 forces us to make mutually exclusive choices that lead to one of four alternative conclusions of the story.
Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis
Adventure 29 August 2008
A sequel to the well-received 2006’s point-and-click adventure game, developed in cooperation with Fusionsphere Systems, the creators of the original. The title’s plot revolves around a worldwide series of unexplainable phenomena boggling even the greatest of minds. Everything indicates that there may actually be something in the prophecy of imminent dooms preached by Pat Shelton on the TV. The duo of the original’s protagonists, Nina Kalenkov and Max Gruber, take on the task to solve the mystery once their paths cross yet again in the face of the incoming danger. Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis is practically identical to its predecessor in terms of gameplay mechanics and graphics. The fun is focused on exploring locations and solving logic puzzles connected to them. The game features pre-rendered backgrounds and three-dimensional character models.
Secret Files: Tunguska
Adventure 01 September 2006
A classic, two-dimensional point-and-click adventure game developed by German studio Fusionsphere Systems. The story of the game is closely related to the famous Tunguska event which occurred in 1908 and which to this day was never fully explained. There are a few theories explaining what occurred there and some of them are quite unusual. The main protagonist of the game is Nina Kalenkov, a Russian girl living in Germany. As she sets out to meet with her father, in his office she finds chaos and documents scattered all over the room. In order to find her father and explain the situation, she travels to the other end of the world accompanied by her colleague Max Gruber. In Secret Files: Tunguska the player can explore more than one hundred various locations and speaks to 25 characters. The graphics of the game combine two-dimensional, pre-rendered backgrounds with three-dimensional characters created using motion capture technology.
