Rugby 20 is a sports game. The production realistically reproduces modern rugby - it is a simulator with licenses that allow us to play with national teams and clubs from the most important world leagues. Like the previous part of the series, the game was developed by Eko Software studio. The publisher is Bigben Interactive.
Mechanics
In Rugby 20 we play rugby matches. During the game we switch between different players of the selected team - we usually observe them from above, although the camera changes its position depending on what is happening on the pitch. Each athlete is described by a number of statistics (e.g. he has limited strength, which determines how long he is able to withstand a hard game).
The main goal of the game is to put the ball in the goal that resembles the letter H - we can do this with a throw or touchdown (delivering the ball to the place and touching the ground). We can freely move our players (athletes that we don't control at the moment are supervised by the AI algorithm and try to help us by taking the right position and disturbing opponents) and take part in both extensive attack plans and defensive maneuvers (rugby is a contact sport - we can e.g. knock over players of the opposite team). It is also necessary to master passing and cooperation between players.
Compared to the previous part, the developers have significantly deepened the tactical layer of the game. During the game, we have the opportunity to make a number of decisions that affect the actions of our team and the course of the meeting - we can manage the ball resumes, search for free spaces and on the fly change the plan of the game, surprising our rivals with new ideas.
The game allows national teams and leagues Top 14, Pro D2, Gallagher Premiership and Pro 14 to take part in the competition.
Game modes
In Rugby 20, we can play both alone and with others - in online and local multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Rugby 20 has an attractive, three-dimensional graphic design, which has been significantly improved compared to the previous part of the series. New, more detailed character models have been developed. Players are also better animated (motion capture technology was used in the work on this element of the game). The game presents itself decently and quite realistically reflects the look and atmosphere of rugby matches.
