Ragnarok Odyssey is a three-dimensional action RPG, whose plot is located in the universe of the popular MMO Ragnarok Online. The creators of the title are the Japanese Game Arts studio and its publisher, GungHo Online Entertainment. In the Land of the Cherry Blossom, the game was one of the first productions to be released on PS Vita and after the premiere it enjoyed great popularity there, mainly due to its similarity to the hit series Monster Hunter.

The universe of the game is based on Nordic mythology. It contains a lot of mythical beasts, as well as terminology borrowed from the sagas of the Vikings. Many elements associated with Japanese fantasy games have been added to this core. The creators used Eastern aesthetics also in the creation of scenery and character design.

Beginning the adventure with the game we create our own hero and define his appearance and choose one of six character classes. Depending on the chosen profession, our character wields a different weapon and has unique special skills, developed along with the acquired experience. Interestingly, after meeting the relevant requirements, the classes can be changed at any time, thus adapting to other players in multiplayer mode, for example. Ragnarok Odyssey's gameplay is fast and action-oriented. As in the already mentioned Monster Hunter, players watch the world from a third person's perspective, and their main occupation is to eliminate opponents living in vast three-dimensional locations. Enemies are both harmless small animals and powerful, tens of meters high bosses, which we can only defeat using all the means available to us. During combat, we use a complex combo consisting of several types of attacks. Using this type of tactics in an effective way, we are rewarded with special cards increasing the hero's skills. It's worth mentioning that the title allows us to select skills and power using the Vita touch screen, thus accelerating and facilitating skirmishes.

Ragnarok Odyssey was created mainly for fun with other players. In multiplayer mode we can connect via the local network or the Internet. A maximum of four people can take part in the common game, with whom we meet in a location prepared for this purpose, connecting adventurers. After completing the team and selecting the task, we move directly to the battlefield.

The graphic design of the production stands at a high level. Colourful and vibrant levels as well as three-dimensional character models with lots of detail please the eye. What is important, despite the graphical fireworks, the game does not slow down in the hottest moments and offers smooth gameplay.
