The third instalment of the popular racing series launched in 1995. The authors of Rage Racer have expanded the game a bit, allowing, among other things, to collect funds and buy improvements and new cars with them. At the same time, the title has retained its arcade character.

Rage Racer is a continuation of the popular cycle started in 1995 with the launch of Ridge Racer. The authors from Namco remastered the audio-visual setting and changed the style to a bit more realistic, and added a number of new features to the gameplay. A big innovation is the option to buy new cars and improvements for the money earned in competitions.

Mechanics

Rage Racer is an arcade racing game. In a dynamic struggle on several tracks, what counts most is speed and drifting. Players have cars from four manufacturers at their disposal, which can be painted in any colour and design their own team logo for them. Each of the cars is described by several statistics, including acceleration and traction, which affect their behavior during the race. Individual features can be improved as you progress and win races - to do this, you need to invest the money you earn in modification packages. Although the virtual garage contains unlicensed machines, motorization enthusiasts easily recognize the inspirations of cult models such as the renault 5 turbo, chevrolette corvette and pontiac firebird.
