Action, FPP, sandbox, FPS, mechs, dystopia, indie games, shooters, immersive sim, singleplayer
Psycho Patrol R is an immersive sim realized in the form of an FPS, in which we play the role of a "law" str? ee wielding a futuristic mech. The independent studio Consumer Softproducts, which has the Cruelty Squad project in its portfolio, is behind the development of this production.
Gameplay
In Psycho Patrol R we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The title puts at our disposal an open world, which we can freely roam, carrying out conversations with encountered characters and completing tasks entrusted to us by them. Individual missions can be carried out in a variety of ways and in any order, and the way in which we approach a particular challenge depends primarily on our style of play.
Nevertheless, the primary role here is in the fight against enemies. The game puts the V-Stalker mech at our disposal; in combination with a rich arsenal, which has room for both small arms and 120 mm caliber guns, it allows us to wreak havoc on enemy ranks. In addition, as we progress, we can adapt it to individual preferences.
Storyline
Psycho Patrol R takes us to the decrepit country of Pan-Europe. During the course of the game, we play the role of an officer of the Federal European Police, whose task is to counter psycho-patrol and neurodegeneration. The stakes are high, because if we fail, the consequences of our failure will be borne by the entire planet standing on the brink of collapse.
Graphics
The graphic design of the game Psycho Patrol R is reminiscent of shooters from the second half of the 1990s. The whole thing is kept in a style, which, although abstract, has been somewhat toned down in relation to Cruelty Squad (nevertheless, we are still dealing with aesthetics straight from narcotic visions).
