An isometric shooter developed by the American Konami team. The title was developed for more mature players, which is indicated, among other things, by the high level of difficulty and the style adopted by the devs.
Story
Fictional planet Viscera V. Four mercenaries are sent to a place to stop the evil corporation Terracom, which for years has been destroying successive civilizations, subjecting various beings to brutal experiments. Employed soldiers are outstanding specialists in the field of destruction and elimitation of enemy personnel - Kreeg, Althea, Jendryk, and Quogg. Each of them is an expert in a different field and has its own strengths.
Mechanics
Project Overkill is a dynamic shoot'em up where the action is presented in isometric projection. There game offers fifty levels, where the players must not only eliminate the indicated targets but also often find the necessary magnetic cards and documents necessary to move forward. Each of the tasks can be performed by the players as one of four characters. Individual characters differ in their equipment and special skills. For example, Jendryk is an expert in stealth actions, while Quogg focuses on firepower and destruction. Each of them takes four types of weapons on a mission, between which the player can switch freely.
In terms of mechanics, the game does not differ from dozens of other representatives of the genres. The player conquers levels, eliminating all enemies, from ordinary soldiers, through larger mutants, to robot-spiders.
Technical aspects
Project Overkill is a dark three-dimenasional SF shooter. Due to the high level of difficulty and the ubiquitous gore, the title is not suitable for younger users.
