Mechanics
Pocket Fighter is a fighting game with a simple combat system. The players have three types of attacks at their disposal - punches, kicks, and a special attacks, which cannot be blocked by the opponent. The power level of the latter is defined by the number of collected colorful crystals that are constantly appearing in the arena. In addition, the players have the option of using special items capable of injuring a rival with magic or stunning them for a certain period of time. The devs also made it possible to execute combos, countering, as well as using throws and taunting enemies.
The set of available characters includes deformed versions of warriors known from games such as Street Fighter and Darkstalkers. These include Ryu, Ken, Morrigan, Felicia, and Zangief. The devs have also made available a character creation mode. The players can then develop the skills of the created hero, collecting special boxes in subsequent battles of the arcade mode. The game also enables two people to have fun on the same screen.
Technical aspects
Pocket Fighter is created in a unique, humorous and cartoonish style. The character models resemble those used in Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. During the duels, remixed songs from the Street Fighter series are played in the background.
