A heroic action RPG and the fifth main installment in the popular The Elder Scrolls franchise. Bethesda Softworks once again takes the players to the fantasy continent of Tamriel. The plot of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set 200 years after the events depicted in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The main character is the last of the Dragonborn (Dovahkiin), a human (or a member of one of the several other available races) able to wield the powerful magic of dragons.

The Dragonborn expansion takes place on a cold island called Solstheim, located northeast of the Skyrim province. The story focuses on the mysterious Miraak – the first Dragonborn, wielding similar powers and abilities as the main protagonist.

In the game, we assume the role of a captain of the Imperial Guard whose task is to free Emperor Uriel Septim VII imprisoned in another dimension by an evil wizard. To achieve this, the protagonist has to escape prison, and obtain eight pieces of a powerful artifact known as the Staff of Chaos.

The plot of the supplement focuses on the gods who make up the title trinity ruling the continent of Tamriel. Developers from Bethesda Softworks studio took care of a solid portion of new products, including new cities, beasts, locations and objects. The changes also included the interface and the character log.

A small expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online MMORPG. Stonethorn introduces new equipment and two dungeons with related storyline threads. ZeniMax Online is responsible for developing the DLC.
