March 20, 2006

The fourth major installment in one of the most popular RPG series, developed by Bethesda Softworks. The game's story takes place in Cyrodiil, the Imperial Province in the continent of Tamriel. After the assassination of the realm's ruler, Emperor Uriel Septim VII, the main character has to find the rightful heir to the throne and have him crowned as the next emperor of Tamriel. Just as in previous games in the series, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion offers a great deal of freedom, both in creation and progression of your character as well as the order in which you do quests. In the game, you encounter over 40 species of monsters and visit several carefully-designed regions, characterized not only by unique landscapes but also by their own communities, history, and culture. Oblivion offers greatly improved visuals powered by the Havok physics engine. Moreover, the PC version also has an expanded level editor implemented in the game.

A heroic action RPG and the fifth main installment in the popular The Elder Scrolls franchise. Bethesda Softworks once again takes the players to the fantasy continent of Tamriel. The plot of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set 200 years after the events depicted in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The main character is the last of the Dragonborn (Dovahkiin), a human (or a member of one of the several other available races) able to wield the powerful magic of dragons. With the arrival of the last Dragonborn, an old prophecy heralding the return of Alduin - the dragon god of destruction - is set into motion. The game combines elements of dynamic action with Bethesda-style cRPG, featuring a complex system of character development and a vast, open world. February 5, 2013

The final story-driven DLC expansion for the acclaimed 2011 RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim by Bethesda Softworks. The Dragonborn expansion takes place on a cold island called Solstheim, located northeast of the Skyrim province. The place should be known to the fans of the series from the second expansion to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The story focuses on the mysterious Miraak – the first Dragonborn, wielding similar powers and abilities as the main protagonist. Hundreds of years ago he had gone mad and vanished from the material plane. During the game, the protagonist is tasked with stopping their mad predecessor from retaking the rule over the island. One of the most important novelties in the game mechanics is the possibility to ride dragons and use them to travel. What's more, the expansion offers many new quests as well as several new types of enemies, weapons, armors and powers.

As it turns out, the protagonist may be the reincarnation of the legendary, treacherously murdered hero by the name of Nerevar, and his mission is to stop the reemerging evil that his previous self had once defeated. The player can chooses from ten available races and twenty-one character classes - thanks to the game's flexible character progression system the character development is influenced mainly by the player's preferred gameplay style. Additionally, a special editor allows the player to modify the game world to a very large degree.

June 30, 1997

A sequel to the 1993’s RPG by Bethesda, which, despite its numerous bugs and issues, turned out to be a significant commercial success. In The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, we assume the role of a hero who, ordered by the Emperor Uriel Septim VII, sets out to the eponymous city to investigate why the soul of King Lysandus was unable to rest in peace and why it haunts the city’s streets at night. As far as gameplay is concerned, the game does not deviate significantly from its predecessor and offers an even bigger world, twice the size of Great Britain, to explore. The title’s nonlinearity remains its biggest attraction, though. The huge amount of freedom of action allows us to develop the our hero in any and all ways as well as engage in a number of additional activities and side quests. Depending on the player’s choices, the production offers six different endings.

October 5, 2012

The second, rather unique, DLC for the fifth installment in The Elder Scrolls series, an RPG series by Bethesda Game Studios. The expansion entitled Hearthfire does not introduce any new storylines and hardly any quests. Instead, it focuses on an entirely new feature which is the possibility to build a house and found our own family. Thanks to it, we can build the manor of our dreams (or several) without using additional editors. It is a complicated process, though, because it requires buying a plot of land, designing the building on a drafting table, gathering materials and processing them into construction materials. Having erected a house, we can furnish it, and then, for example, cultivate the garden or breed fish, bees, or cattle. Moreover, we can even adopt children that can be played with but also have to be brought up and protected.
