A comprehensive manager game developed by Sports Interactive. It is a reboot of a series of games released from 2004 to 2007 along the legendary Football Manager series. The new installment is based on the mechanics of the Football Manager, adapted to a completely different sports discipline. In the game the player becomes a manager of a hockey team and his task is to lead the team to local and international victories. The manager is responsible for things like deciding the team's line-up, tactics, and transfers. Depending on preferences, one can do everything on one's own or hire specialists who will help with some tasks. Eastside Hockey Manager, typically for a Sports Interactive production, offers many licensed playable hockey teams from all over the world. It is also possible in the game to lead a national team in the most important international tournaments.

The game is a continuation to a sports title Franchise Hockey Manager 2014. Franchise Hockey Manager 2 was created by Out of the Park Developments - a team known for a series of baseball games. The player becomes the manager of either a player-created hockey team, or another that belongs to one of 21 leagues from all over the world. The player's goals here are to set the lineup and tactics, hire staff members, negotiate contracts with new hockey players, as well as to manage the club's finances. Optionally, the player can place an assistant (such as the main coach) in charge of certain tasks. The game introduces many novelties as compared to its predecessor, including the remodeled tactics system, a system responsible for simulating the fatigue of our players, development and progress evaluation, as well as extensive news section and pre-season matches. Franchise Hockey Manager 2 utilizes a completely new engine as well, which brings both improved visuals and better AI. The Facegen system on the other hand, is at the source of the game's realistic representations of particular hockey players.

A hockey manager game that enables the player to lead one of many teams from Canadian, American and European leagues. The main attraction of the game is a full license of the NHL. During the game the player must maintain many things. One of the basic activities is looking for young talents and buying experienced players. To convince them to play in the player’s club, the player must propose attractive terms. Once the team is assembled, the player must set tactics before matches, modify them during the skirmish, replace injured players etc. The skills of players are improved during trainings managed by a hired training team. One of the more interesting features is the possibility to start the season in 1917 and lead the stars from old times. Franchise Hockey Manager 4 was developed by a German studio Out of the Park Developments, the creators of other entries in the series and the Out of the Park Baseball series.
