ParanormalHK is a FPP horror adventure game. This is the debut production of the Chinese Ghostpie Studio.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in modern Hong Kong, during the annual Hungry Ghost Festival. The story is about a group of young people who create a network video channel Beyond the Invisible, focusing on studying supernatural phenomena. They go at night to the housing estate known as Kowloon Walled City to record the latest episode of their show there.

When they're filming, things that are hard to explain start happening. The behaviour of the lead actress, Kathy, becomes irrational, and then she disappears along with a few others.

We play the role of a member of the filming crew named Ah Lok. Our task is to find Katie and escape from the Kowloon Walled City.

Mechanics

ParanormalHK is a classic FPP horror adventure game. Events are seen from the eyes of the hero, and the gameplay is mainly focused on exploration. The environment is three-dimensional and has many interactive elements.

The gameplay is enriched by occasional logic puzzles, as well as arcade sequences, during which we have to escape from the threat.The gameplay is also diversified by stealth sections, which require hiding from the supernatural forces hunting for us.

ParanormalHK offers single player mode only.

Technical issues:

ParanormalHK has an attractive three-dimensional graphic design. The developers put a lot of work into developing realistic locations, faithfully reproducing the places from the Kowloon Walled City.
